Real Jaén CF travels to Mendizorroza to take on Deportivo Alavés in the Liga Adelante for the first time ever to open up matchday 21. It promises to be a passionate encounter as both teams need three points in order to not complicate matters further for themselves ahead of the second half of the season.
The objective of the Basque outfit is to secure a second successive victory after its important win in Soria. Juan Carlos Mandiá’s men, who have had their confidence boosted recently, have faith in teammate Borja Viguera’s ability to find the target, the Alavés striker is currently the second highest goal scorer in the division.
For their part, the Andalusians travel to Mendizorroza with four players just one booking away from suspension: Juanma, Dani Torres, Álex Cruz and Servando. Nonetheless, the side is more than motivated to continue climbing the table. Despite having lost to Alavés back in June during the Liga Adelante play-offs, coach Manolo Herrero made it clear that "we’re not looking for revenge. We just want to win".
