SD Eibar's Liga Adelante streak continues. At the end of matchday 31 of the competition, the armeros have the lead with 54 points after beating CD Mirandés 4-1 on Saturday, demonstrating that their promotion dream is still very much alive.
Its closest challenger, RC Deportivo de La Coruña, stay one point back after a valuable away win over Real Zaragoza (0-1), returning to winning ways after a draw and a defeat in its last two matches. Also at the top end of the table are Real Sporting de Gijón, who moved up to third place after beating Girona FC 3-1 and CD Tenerife can now aspire to a playoff spot after their rout over SD Ponferradina (5-0) with a hat-trick from Ayoze Pérez. UD Las Palmas, with its 3-1 win over Real Murcia CF, lie in fifth.
The bottom of the table is much more crowded, but none of the four teams in the relegation zone managed a win. In addition to the defeats of the above-mentioned Girona and Ponferradina, AD Alcorcón produced a goalless draw with Real Jaén CF and Deportivo Alavés lost 2-1 to FC Barcelona B.
In other matches, Hércules CF and CD Numancia failed to offer up any goals and RCD Mallorca beat Real Madrid Castilla 2-1 with goals from Tomer Hemed and Thomas Partey in the dying minutes.
