Las Palmas and Sporting Gijón will meet on Sunday for what promises to be one of the most exciting games during matchday 32 of the Liga Adelante.
The Gran Canaria outfit, fourth in the table with 48 points, is enjoying one of its best streaks of form this season having picked up 13 of the last available 15 points. Fully committed to fighting until the end of the season for automatic promotion, a position they currently trail by five points, Sergio Lobera's men will be looking to extend their impressive run of form against a direct rival in their search for Liga BBVA football.
Meanwhile, Sporting, who lie third with 49 points, will be looking to widen the gap between the sides and take a step closer towards second place in the table. In order to do so, the Asturian outfit will have to be at its best in the Estadio de Gran Canaria, where recent history favours the home team, which has won four, drawn three and only lost one of the last eight meetings between the sides. Luis Hernández makes his way back into José Ramón Sandoval's squad after completing his suspension, while Santi Jara will miss this match for a suspension of his own.
