Javi López, Girona's new coach

The official presentation of Javi López asLiga Adelanteteam Girona CF's new manager took place on Thursday. Jordi Guerrero will take his place alongside him as the first team's assistant coach. The event was attended by Joaquim Boadas, the club's president, and the sports director, Oriol Alsina.

The Catalonian was very enthusiastic when he spoke about his new role at Girona: "The squad is really good and has the potential to move up the table. I am willing to work very hard to turn things around quickly". The coach, whose first match will be against RCD Mallorca on matchday 19, is well aware of how competitive the Liga Adelante is, but he believes in the team's chances: "Everything is very tight, but we will set our objectives from match to match".
