In the lead-up to World Cancer Day, Matchday 22 in LALIGA EA SPORTS and Matchday 25 in LALIGA HYPERMOTION, various activities will take place to leverage LALIGA’s immense visibility and social reach in support of the AECC’s goals. This mirrors last season’s efforts, which featured the participation of all LALIGA teams.
On these matchdays, players from participating LALIGA clubs will take to the field wearing green armbands, similar to those typically worn in moments of mourning. These armbands will also be worn by the coaching staff, referees, and media personnel to maximise visibility.
The aim is to symbolise hope and survival by transforming one of the symbols most often associated with the disease into a positive and uplifting message.
Additionally, LALIGA and the clubs will collaborate in the promotion of the campaign through social media and in the stadiums themselves, with messages on the scoreboards, the advertising boards, and with information shared during the television broadcasts.
By renewing its participation in the campaign, LALIGA aims to shift the perception of cancer, from one of mourning to one of hope and the possibility of a better future for patients.
