The derby of opportunity

Derbies between Sevilla FC and Real Betis Balompié always provide plenty to talk about. The history of the rivalry in the Liga BBVA between the two teams from the capital of Andalusia grows each year and Sunday the 24th of November will provide a new edition that will include many debutants.

Betis will visit the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in need of a good result given their current standing in the table, and they will do so with twelve new players among its ranks and others like Álvaro Vadillo who have experience in matches of this magnitude, despite being one of the verdiblanco's emerging players.

But Betis are not alone in the inexperience of its squad as Sevilla also have a lot of fresh faces in its line-up for the first Seville derby of the season. 13 players came to the team coached by Unai Emery this season after a makeover in the summer. The match against their biggest rival in the league will be a good moment to try players such as Vitolo, Kevin Gameiro, Carlos Bacca and the team's surprise package, Jairo Samperio.

The match will also be a chance to see another clash with Unai Emery and Pepe Mel at the reins. The only time the two managers have met with these teams ended in a three-all draw on matchday 31 of last season's Liga BBVA. In that match, Betis came back from 1-3 down to rescue a point in front of its home fans.
